The biggest challenge working on Wizard 101 was designing for an older game that already had UI elements, interactions, and game flows set. Trying to create new screens or update old ones for quality of life while keeping in mind best UX practices and also not breaking pre-set conventions in the game was a constant juggling match. It was a challenge I enjoyed though and we managed to make things that could really help the players and noticed a positive change in their playing experience.

Item Inspect QoL Update

Items in Wizard101 have a lot of different stats including providing cards. It was difficult to compare two items and even see what all the items contained as the inspector could get so large it would go off the screen on some resolutions. I designed a tabbed inspection to break all the items had into smaller chunks, leaving the most important things upfront and implemented a third window when comparing gear to see an overview of the changes at a glance.
